Putting Yourself In Your Client's Shoes

Updated: Jun 27, 2018

One of the most important things I find when it comes to working with clients is being able to put yourself in their shoes and understand their story. As a designer, our job is not just to create something pretty (though, yes that is part of it!) but we also have to be a communicator; a listener. When I start a project, I always set aside a bulk of time to get to know my client, their business and their goals. I find that the client usually knows what they want, or at least a general feeling of what they're looking for. They usually just need someone to really listen, understand and put it into action.
